Tectite 4 Tent

With the Space 3 and Space 3 Winter being discontinued, Wilderness Equipment felt it was time they reintroduced the Tectite 4 to the range. This new version has a number of improvements over the previous model, including  the mesh door cover, which allows complete bug/snake protection in warm weather while promoting excellent ventilation. This T4 tent is made using the same 30d sil/sil Nylon fly fabric as the Space/Arrow UL tents, and at well under 3kg, with a massive 5.3 square metres of floor space, this is the perfect option for a hiking family. Add a large UL Overhang “veranda” and you’ve got a spacious, easy to pitch shelter solution weighing much less than a couple of two-person tents.

The ultimate family backpacking tent. Our own quest to accommodate a family of four lead to the Tectite concept and this extraordinary tent. Its reliable performance in wind and rain, the huge 5.3 square metres of floor space, airy ventilation and complete insect protection, are all achieved at a minimum-pitch weight of just over 2.0 kilograms. Four pegs tension the elevated tub floor which connects to the canopy rim via a full perimeter mesh band. A detachable ceiling panel, acting exactly as an inner tent roof, intercepts any condensation drips on those still, damp nights. Cycle tourers wanting some space to spread out, or rock climbers looking for a ‘crag hotel’ will also find much appeal in this cavernous tent.
